Support
Hit a snag? Got a question? Want to tell us about a kid moment you wish DadOS handled better? You're in the right place. Check the FAQs first — your answer might already be here — and if not, the form at the bottom lands straight in our inbox.
The fastest ways to reach us
- Email: hello@mydados.com — we read every message.
- Form below: Skip to the contact form.
- TestFlight feedback: Tap the screenshot tool inside TestFlight to send notes directly tied to a build.
1. Joining the beta & TestFlight
How do I join the beta?
Tap this TestFlight link on your iPhone, install Apple's TestFlight app if you don't have it, then accept the invitation. You'll be in within about a minute.
What devices does DadOS work on?
DadOS is currently iPhone-only and requires iOS 17 or later. An iPad and Android version are on the roadmap — drop your email on the homepage and we'll let you know when they're ready.
The TestFlight invite says "full"?
Email us at hello@mydados.com and we'll bump the cap. Apple limits beta builds to 10,000 testers per build — we manage waves manually.
How do I update to the latest build?
Open the TestFlight app, find DadOS in your list, and tap Update. New builds usually drop every 1–2 weeks during the beta.
2. Account, sign-in & emails
I'm not getting the confirmation email
Check your spam/junk folder first. If it's not there:
- Make sure you typed the right address (case doesn't matter, typos do).
- Wait 2 minutes — sometimes it just takes that long.
- Some inbox providers (especially work email) silently block transactional mail. Try a personal Gmail or iCloud address.
- Still nothing? Email hello@mydados.com with the address you used and we'll re-trigger it manually.
How do I reset my password?
On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot password" and enter your email. You'll get a reset link within a minute. Links expire after 60 minutes — request a fresh one if you wait too long.
Can I change my email address?
Not yet directly in the app — we're shipping that soon. For now, email us at hello@mydados.com from the address currently on file and we'll switch it for you.
3. The AI Coach
What is the AI Coach, exactly?
It's a calm, parenting-aware chat that helps you think through tough moments — a tantrum at bedtime, a missed bath time, the guilt of working through dinner. It's powered by OpenAI's GPT-4, with a parenting-coach persona we've tuned over months of testing.
Is the AI Coach a therapist?
No. The AI Coach is not a therapist, counsellor, medical provider, or crisis service. It's a thinking partner — useful for parenting reflection, not for mental-health treatment. If you need professional support, please reach out to a licensed clinician. See our Terms for the full disclaimer.
Why did the coach say something weird?
AI is improving but still imperfect. If a response feels off, take a screenshot and send it to hello@mydados.com — these reports directly shape how we tune the coach.
Are my conversations private?
The text of your messages is sent to OpenAI's API to generate the response, but OpenAI does not use API submissions to train its models (per their API Data Usage Policy). Your conversation history is stored in our own database (Supabase) so you can review it later — never shared with anyone else. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
4. Adding kids & data
Do I have to add my kid's information?
No. Child profiles are entirely optional. The coach works without them — it'll just give more generic responses. Adding a first name and approximate age helps it tailor advice.
How many kids can I add?
As many as you want. We've tested up to 6 without issues.
Can I export my data?
Yes — email hello@mydados.com with the address on your account and ask for an export. We'll send a JSON file with everything you've created. In-app export is coming soon.
5. Pricing & billing
Does DadOS cost anything?
The beta is free. When DadOS launches publicly (target: July 2026), there'll be a free tier and a paid subscription with deeper features (memory, more coach context, expanded missions). All beta testers will get a generous extended free window — we'll let you know in advance.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through Apple. On your iPhone go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → DadOS → Cancel Subscription. The cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
Refunds?
Apple handles all refunds for in-app purchases. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
6. Privacy & deleting data
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, child entries, coach history, missions, and memories within 30 days. There's no undo.
What about marketing emails?
Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Or email us — we'll handle it manually.
Where can I read your privacy policy?
Right here: Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. They're written in plain English.
7. Bugs, crashes & feature requests
How do I report a bug?
The fastest path is the screenshot tool inside TestFlight — it attaches the build version and your device info automatically. If you can't use TestFlight (e.g., post-launch), use the form below and pick "Bug report."
I'm getting "Network request failed" when I try to sign up
This means the app couldn't reach our servers. The most common cause is a VPN — some VPN providers (especially personal ones) route through IP ranges our backend treats as suspicious. Try these in order:
- Turn off any active VPN, then retry.
- If you're on cell data, switch to WiFi (or vice versa) and retry.
- If you're on a corporate/school network, try mobile data — some networks block third-party APIs.
- Still stuck? Email hello@mydados.com with your iPhone model and roughly when you tried.
The app keeps crashing on launch
Try these in order:
- Force-quit DadOS (swipe up from the App Switcher).
- Reboot your iPhone.
- Open TestFlight and check for a newer build.
- If it's still happening, send us your iPhone model, iOS version, and the build number (shown at the top of the TestFlight page).
I have a feature idea
Yes please. Use the form below and pick "Feature request" — every single suggestion gets read. Some of our best decisions (the daily mission format, the memory recall feature) came directly from dads in the beta.
8. If you're in crisis
DadOS is not a substitute for professional mental-health support. If you or someone you love is in crisis, please reach out to a real human now:
- US: Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) — 24/7.
- UK & Ireland: Call 116 123 (Samaritans) — free, 24/7.
- Canada: Call or text 988 (Suicide Crisis Helpline) — 24/7.
- Australia: Call 13 11 14 (Lifeline) — 24/7.
- Anywhere else / emergency: Call your local emergency number.
